HORN OF AFRICA FAMINE BENEFIT CONCERT
CONCERT THEME: A TRUTHFUL WITNESS SAVES LIVES!
ASBURY METHODIST VILLAGE
ROSBOROUGH CENTER THEATER. GAITHERSBURG MD

HIGHTLIGHT VIDEO OF THE EVENT

The FoH Horn of Africa Famine Benefit Concert aimed to support relief efforts to the ongoing famine in 'Horn of Africa' (East Africa) was a sucess! FACE OF HARVEST selected the theme of A Truthful Witness Saves Lives in that we felt and still feel an obligation to truthfully bring to light the plight of an estimated 12 million people across the Horn of Africa in dire need of humanitarian assistance due to a deadly combination of drought, escalating food prices and armed conflict.

The most vulnerable to the effects of the famine have been over 2 million children under the age of five in Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia and Djibouti. Malnutrition rates are at critical levels as the region suffers its worst dry spell in almost 60 years, compounded by rising food prices. The United Nations (UN) has declared famine in five regions of Somalia, including in camps for displaced families. In these famine zones, almost 10% of the children under age 5 die every 3 months (Source: UNICEF).

The benefit concert featured multiple artists and humanitarian advocates who addressed the current crisis taking place in the region. Featured artists and speakers included:
  • Ntambo & the FOH African Band, Recording Artist, Director of FoH Musci & Founder of African Night of Worship, Maryland, USA
  • DJ Joash Okare, NxT LvL Music, New Jersey, USA
  • Uche Favor, Nigerian Recording Artist, Virginia, USA
  • Isaac, FOH Founder, Executive Director, Washington DC, USA
  • And Many More...

Elva (Co-Founder, Chief Counsel) was missed at the concert!
