What Is A SafeHouse?

In essence a SafeHouse is a secure haven (or place of refuge) for any individual suffering persecution due to religious beliefs, minority status, gender bias, etc. The SafeHouse serves two purposes that align with the FACE OF HARVEST mission of advancing ‘wholeness’ (or Shalom). On one hand, an individual staying in a SafeHouse is able to teach foreign aid workers the local language and culture; conversely, the aid workers provide the individual with tools and resources to improve their livelihood, and simply recoup.

One general rule of a SafeHouse is that, “this is not a hotel...” The individuals residing a SafeHouse must continue to work to sustain their livelihood; the SafeHouse provides them free housing, but they must provide for their own food. If however, they are unable to get work due to special circumstance, then we assume the responsibility of providing for their meals.

Throughout the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa), there remains a considerable need for SafeHouse’s. FOH would appreciate your support to fund these efforts.
