FACE OF HARVEST will be hosting the SAY A PRAYER FOR SOMALIA CONCERT & DINNER to support its ongoing response [link to current work in region] to the drought and emergency food and medical crisis in the 'Horn of Africa' (East Africa). FACE OF HARVEST has selected the theme of “A Truthful Witness Saves Lives” in that we feel an obligation to truthfully bring to light the plight of an estimated 12 million people across the Horn of Africa in dire need of humanitarian assistance due to a deadly combination of drought, escalating food prices and armed conflict.

Among the most vulnerable to the drought and famine are 2 million children under the age of five in Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia and Djibouti. Malnutrition rates are at critical levels as the region suffers its worst dry spell in almost 60 years, compounded by rising food prices. The United Nations has declared famine in five regions of Somalia, including in camps for displaced families. In these famine zones, almost 10% of the children under age 5 die every 3 months (Source: UNICEF).

The benefit concert will feature multiple artists and humanitarian advocates who will address the current crisis taking place in the 'Horn of Africa. Featured artists and speakers will include (but are not limited to):
  • Ntambo & the FoH African Band, Recording Artist, Director of FOH Music & Founder of African Night of Worship, Maryland, USA
  • Elva, Recording Artist, FoH Chief Council, California, USA. Official Artist Page
  • Elva Diaz, Recording Artist, Arizona, USA
  • DJ Joash Okare, NxT LvL Music, New Jersey, USA
  • Isaac, FOH Founder, FoH Executive Director, Washington DC, USA
